Sometimes you are not able to wait for a replacement mailing kit from Parasite Diagnostic Services.
Follow these simple instructions to assemble your own kit.
Samples can be refrigerated until placing into the post.

Sheep, Cattle, Goats

  • 10 clip top small plastic bags for each flock to be tested
  • One clip top larger plastic bag for each flock to be tested
  • Download the applicable submission form
  • An indelible ink felt tip pen or a sticker
  • An Australia post Express post or standard post red plastic satchel. Use of Express Post is recommended at peak mail times such as Christmas.
  1. Place around 8 – 10 “fresh and still steaming pellets” or a “fresh and still steaming dollop” the size of a table spoon into each bag. Collect 10 bags per flock or, if you have fewer animals to test then collect one per animal.
  2. Seal each bag and place into the  second (larger) bag
  3. Complete the submission form making sure that the flocks or individual animals described on your submission form have exactly the same label on your larger plastic bag. Use the ink pen or place a sticker on the outside of the larger bag.
  4. Make sure all writing is clear and that you have clearly asked us for a bulk test or an individual test for the worm counts.
  5. Place all of these into the post pack.
  6. Include payment ( it costs more if we send you an invoice)
  7. Keep samples cool until posting.

Horse

  • 1 clip top small plastic bag
  • One clip top larger plastic bag
  • Download the applicable submission form
  • An indelible ink felt tip pen or a sticker
  • An Australia post Express post or standard post red plastic satchel.  Use of Express Post is recommended at peak mail times such as Christmas.
  1. Place a good “fresh and still steaming dollop” the size of a table spoon into a bag
  2. Collect 1 bag per horse.
  3. Seal each bag and place into the  second (larger) bag
  4. Complete the submission form making sure that the individual animals described on your submission form  have exactly the same label on your larger plastic bag. Use the ink pen or place a sticker on the outside of the larger bag.
  5. Make sure all writing is clear
  6. Place all of these into the post pack.
  7. Include payment ( it costs more if we send you an invoice)
  8. Never place the sample into a refrigerator if you require us to complete a larval culture.

Poultry

  • 10 clip top small plastic bags
  • One clip top larger plastic bag
  • Download the applicable submission form
  • An indelible ink felt tip pen or a sticker
  • An Australia post Express post or standard post red plastic satchel. Use of Express Post is recommended at peak mail times such as Christmas.
  1. Place sufficient freshly deposited faeces from several birds (from under perches is a good location)to form a good dollop the size of a table spoon. Place these into a bag. A minimum of 10 samples is quite representative for most flocks.
  2. You may also collect one faecal sample per bird.
  3. Seal each bag and place into the second (larger) bag. Use the ink pen or place a sticker on the outside of the larger bag.
  4. Complete the poultry submission form making sure that the flocks or individual flocks or birds described on your submission form have exactly the same label on your larger plastic bag.
  5. Make sure all writing is clear and that you have clearly described what you want the lab to look for. This is also where completing a brief story about any problems will help us make sure we complete the testing.
  6. Include payment ( it costs more if we send you an invoice)
